Privacy Policy
Mitta (“we,” “us”) is a peer-to-peer micro-learning product operated for the letsmitta.com / Mitta iOS app experience. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and your choices. If you have questions, email support@letsmitta.com.
Information we collect
Depending on how you use Mitta, we may collect:
- Account data — name, email address, profile photo, bio, timezone, and topics you want to learn or teach, provided when you sign in with Google or Apple and complete onboarding.
- Session data — match and session metadata (participants, topic, status, scheduled time), reflections and ratings you submit, and reports you file.
- Communications — emails we send (match found, session reminders, confirmations) and messages you send to support or via the marketing waitlist / business contact forms.
- Device and diagnostics — push notification tokens, approximate device/platform info, crash and performance diagnostics (e.g. Sentry), and product analytics events (e.g. PostHog) needed to run and improve the beta.
- Video sessions — live audio/video is processed by our video provider (Daily.co) to deliver the call. We do not sell session recordings as a product feature in v0; do not record others without consent (see our Code of Conduct).
How we use information
- Create and manage your account and profile
- Match learners and guides and run scheduled or instant sessions
- Send transactional email and push notifications you expect
- Moderate reports and enforce our Code of Conduct
- Operate beta waitlist / TestFlight invite ops
- Improve reliability, safety, and product quality
Legal bases (where applicable)
We process personal data to perform our contract with you (providing the service), with your consent where required (e.g. certain marketing emails), and for legitimate interests such as security, abuse prevention, and product improvement — balanced against your rights.
Sharing
We share data with processors who help us run Mitta, including:
- Supabase (auth and database hosting)
- Daily.co (video sessions)
- Resend (transactional email)
- Expo / Apple (push and TestFlight distribution)
- Sentry and PostHog (diagnostics and product analytics)
- Hosting providers for our API and marketing site
We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of users.
Retention
We retain account and session records while your account is active and as needed for safety, legal, and operational purposes. If you request account deletion in the app, we process the request (target: within 30 days) and delete or de-identify personal data we no longer need, except where we must retain limited records (e.g. abuse reports).
Your choices
- Update profile information in the Mitta app
- Request account deletion from in-app settings
- Contact support@letsmitta.com for access or correction requests
- Opt out of non-essential analytics where controls are available
Children
Mitta is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
International transfers
We and our processors may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.
Changes
We may update this policy. We will post the new effective date on this page and, for material changes, provide additional notice when appropriate.
